In glaucoma – also known as “green star” – the eye’s internal pressure is elevated for various reasons. If this is not treated adequately, the optic nerve may be damaged. In the early stages of glaucoma, central vision is preserved for a long time. However, as the disease progresses, it can lead to a loss of field of view and even complete blindness.
